Experiences of Trauma Services in Northern Uganda: Implications for Mental Health Policy and Legislation
This video presents British Academy and Leverhulme Trust-funded qualitative research that focusses on service users and service providers experiences of trauma counselling services in northern Uganda. 35 in-depth individual interviews were carried out with survivors, service providers and key informants n Kitgum and Gulu, northern Uganda and Kampala in June 2013. The research was carried out in close collaboration with Kitgum Women's Peace Initiative, KIWEPI, a non-government organisation that supports women and girl survivors of conflict and post-conflict sexual and gender-based violence.
